    Biogas plant based on Biodegradable waste resource


    Nisargruna Bio-Gas Plant involves aerobic digestion of biodegradable waste material before the anaerobic digestion. Due to this additional step, diversity of feed increases.It can be constructed in different capacities ranging from 100 kg/day to 10 tone/day.


    Bio Gas Plant would serve many purposes such as:

    •Environment friendly disposal of waste, which is a need of  the hour considering mass pollution everywhere. 
    •Generation of fairly good amount of fuel gas, which will definitely support the dwindling energy resources.
    •Generation of high quality manure, which is free of  weed and is an excellent soil conditioner.


    •The wastes can be processed by this plant are biodegradable material such as kitchen waste, paper waste, green grass, leaf litter, animal remains in abattoirs, hospital waste, cattle dung (gobar) etc. 

    •The Bio gas plants are useful for Municipal Corporations, Hospitals, Hotels, Housing Societies, Govt. Establishments, Abattoirs, Nagar Palika, Grampanchayat, etc.

    BARC’s NISARG-RUNA plant for solid waste management offers a “Zero garbage, Zero effluent” method for waste management.


    Banana is a globally important fruit crop which contributes 37% of the total fruit production in India. Edible bananas do not produce seeds. Hence tissue culture propagation of banana through shoot tip as well as floral apices has been standardized to increase banana production.

    The banana tissue culture process involves:

    •Initiation of aseptic cultures from shoot-tips obtained from disease-free banana plants
    •Multiplication of the shoots to the desired scale
    •Induction of roots to individual shoots
    •Primary & secondary hardening of the tender plantlets in the poly-house
    •Field-transfer of the hardened tissue culture plants

    •Rapid multiplication & Early harvesting
    •Uniform size and age of plants.
    •High quality fruit bunches. Available throughout the year


    Salient Features:

    •Easily dismantled into a thin rectangular box for easy transportation & storage.
    •Available in capacities of 10, 25 & 100 kg
    •The solar radiations are absorbed by black metallic outer surface of dryer with maximum utilization of sunlight
    •5 times faster than conventional drying
    •Hygienic, and prevents infestation by insects, pests and micro-organisms
    •No special skill required for fabrication and handling
    •Used for drying of grapes, jack fruit pulp, ginger, green pepper, herbal medicines  etc.

    Installation & Maintenance:

    •Foldable solar dryer should be kept in Sun during day time
    •Care must be taken to keep the polythene sheet intact or use acrylic sheet instead of it
    •During solar drying the trays must be shuffled for uniform drying
    •Foldable solar dryer should be kept in safe place when not in use

    •Kills all developmental stages of insects in stored grain

    •Uniform heating: each grain vibrates & comes in contact with hot air being circulated inside VTD
    •Intra-grain air which acts as a bad conductor of heat  equilibrates with hot air


    •Switch on the VTD to get the temperature of the air inside to 65oC
    • Load the grains into the hopper
    • Collect the grains from the outlet
    •Pack in insect impermeable package or  store in air tight silos
